The European Chips Skills Academy (ECSA) invites students, graduates, and early-career professionals to join an upcoming webinar in collaboration with imec, offering a behind-the-scenes look at daily life and career paths within a global semiconductor research hub.

Based in Leuven, Belgium, imec is one of the world’s leading research hubs for advanced semiconductor technologies, with over 6,500 employees working across chip scaling, artificial intelligence, silicon photonics, and more. Its research feeds into industries ranging from computing and health to automotive.

Instead of talking about semiconductor careers in the abstract, this session introduces the people doing the work: an R&D project leader, a FAB engineering operations lead, and imec’s recruitment team, who will share current job openings and a short behind-the-scenes from the fab floor.

Agenda

  • Introduction to ECSA — Victoria Cummings
  • R&D Project Leader, IC Link — Chiara Mancini
  • FAB Engineering Operations & Equipment Leader (cleanroom) — Brecht Dries
  • Career opportunities at imec + behind-the-scenes video — Annelien Buedts
  • Q&A Session.

Participants will:

  • Learn about the objectives and activities of the European Chips Skills Academy
  • Get an inside look at R&D and engineering roles at imec
  • Discover current career opportunities at imec, in both R&D and engineering
  • Gain first-hand insights into daily life inside a semiconductor research hub
  • Engage directly with imec speakers during the Q&A session
